Anil K. Seth is a neuroscientist at the University of Sussex, where he co-directs the Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science. His research applies predictive-processing and information-theoretic approaches to consciousness, perception, and selfhood, advancing the view that conscious experience is a "controlled hallucination" — the brain making its best guess about the causes of its sensory inputs.
